Saturday surprise

The boys upstairs got home around midnight last night and proceeded to make unbelievable noise until around 4am, when I finally drifted off to sleep. This morning, I was dead tired and stayed in bed long after I had woken up – in that weird vacuum all students will recognize: between having just handed in a major project and starting work on the next project. At around 10.15, I get a call from my parents. They say, “Hi, what are you up to?” And then they say, “What do you think about meeting us at Coffeelovers in about three minutes?” You guys. My parents and my brother had driven all the way down to Maastricht (3+ hour drive) this early in the morning to spend the day with me! BEST SURPRISE EVER. — We took a long walk around the city, had some great lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, and talked and laughed a lot. And took photos. See above. Heh.

Hope, you’re having a lovely weekend!

  1. What a lovely surprise! I hope that when Neil and I move off (which COULD happen…) that my family will do that sometimes. I’m glad you had such an awesome day! Nice black and whites!

  2. That is really cool they surprised you like that! I wish my family did that sometime.

  3. Aw, that’s so lovely of your family! Looks like you guys had a brilliant time, too :)

  4. Gorgeous pictures and how awesome off that they came to visit you spur of the moment. Seriously, though, these pictures look professional, I almost wondered if you got them offline or something.
